RO/DI System
The water filter system utilizes a process called reverse osmosis (RO) to purify the water. As the heart of the purification system, the RO process uses a semi-permeable, spiral-wound membrane to separate and remove dissolved solids, organic, pyrogens, sub-micron colloidal particles and bacteria from the water. Feed water is delivered under pressure at about 60 PSI through the permeator where water permeates the minute pores of the membrane and is delivered as purified water.
Reverse Osmosis is a technology that is used to remove a large majority of contaminants from water by pushing the water under pressure through a semi;permeable membrane. This paper is aimed towards an audience that has little of no experience with Reverse Osmosis and will attempt to explain the basics in simple terms that should leave the reader with a better overall understanding of Reverse Osmosis technology and its applications.
